More and more we try to document every little thing in our lives. When I scroll through my phone, I see both a lot of happy and sad moments. My phone is bursting with documentation of my life, and sometimes I wonder if it actually makes me feel better. Maybe it’s better just to remember without trying to record everything?
The speaker in this song is referring to how painful it is to look into all of this documentation of a relationship that recently came to a close. It was happy for a while, but now looking back it’s all just painful and every screenshot of happy moments has ultimately turned into a screenshot of every little pain.
