about

‘Broken thoughts on the tip of my tongue
urging to slip out,
to spill
I can’t stop this feeling
haunting me
It seems to follow wherever I go’
The first verse is about the noise (the anxiety) following you everywhere, without being able to hide from it. It’s also about that feeling when you know the feeling/emotion is about to explode but you can’t quite stop it from happening.

‘My dear,
I’m in the headlights’
The whole idea for the song came from this phrase. I love wordplay, and often I feel that having a panic attack is like being a deer in the headlights. You’re frozen and can’t move, you really want to get out of the situation but can’t. By changing the word ‘deer’ into ‘dear’ it makes the sentiment feel more genuine and intimate.

lyrics

Broken thoughts on the tip of my tongue
urging to slip out,
to spill
I can’t stop this feeling
haunting me
It seems to follow wherever I go

Aching cravings on the side of the road
Frozen
in time
I don’t know where this is going
but I don’t like it
no, I don’t like it

My dear,
I’m in the headlights
hardly moving
Breathing fast under the moonlight
just need to get away (and run)
